Battle on Big Ben

I watched The Great Mouse Detective yesterday, for the first time in years. I was expecting to be disappointed, because often movies I watch in my childhood turn out to be not as good as I remember (that happened with The Secret of Nimh the other day ). Fortunately though, I was pleasantly surprised. Basil of Baker Street (who I had quite the crush on, back in the day) is still supremely awesome. It's also fun because now that I've actually read some Sherlock Holmes books, I can recognize the nods to the original that they stuck in there.

This is the final fight scene on the clock, which I thought was particularly thrilling. I love how furious Ratigan gets, and the ticking sounds of the clock are quite a mood-setter.

Anyway, I recommend this movie. Two thumbs up.
